The Pickaroo - Winged bastards

Important: pickaroos hate the color purple. And red.

Pickaroos are filthy avian scavengers found throughout the Southern Seas, but they are most common in the Obari Reach. At a glance pickaroos resemble large dark seagulls, but a closer look will reveal hateful red eyes that gleam with hunger and spite. Notorious for devouring fresh kills and "picking" wounded prey to death, a pickaroo or two would pose a serious threat to a marooned, malnourished seaman. Or an unattended toddler. They have such a bad reputation among mariners that they frequently are incorporated into sea shanties, ship names, insults, dirty limericks, and nicknames.

Pickaroos are also known as winged bastards, sky rats, granny stalkers, Ol' Maggie, fuckaroos, Slim Shady, bastiches, wig humpers, Dirty Pete, baby snatchers, shit bombers, The Picnic Plague, and beach vultures.
